Abstract
This work aims to develop and validate a methodology for the rationalization of energy consumption and
improving energy efficiency (EE) of an oil refinery. The proposal includes an elaborate set of step i)
identification of loss / energy deposits ii) the optimal design a network of heat exchangers by means of the
thermal pinch iii) the implementation of heat pumps to reduce energy consumption in the reboiler.
