A laser is a device that amplifies light and produces a high directional, high intensity beam that has a very pure frequency. Its powers vary from 10ˉ9 to 1020 Watt and frequencies from 1011 to 10ˉ11 Hertz. Lasers have pulse energies as high as 104Joule and pulse durations as short as 6×10ˉ15sec.They can easily drill holes in the most of durable materials and can weld detached retinas within the human eye.
